Project Description

Single lady with one son (at home) has been restoring / remodeling her home in south Denison.  She has had quite a bit of contract work done, and has purchased all materials needed to finish the kitchen work.  Her priority is to get the kitchen functional (cabinet tops put on, sink installed, dishwasher put in, oven set back in place, etc).  She is very handy at doing tile and finish work, but can’t handle the heavier tasks, or those requiring a lot of kneeling and bending.

The lack of a functional kitchen is definitely causing some discomforts and inconvenience for her and her son.  She could use the help of a team to get the following things done:

  • Trim out opening for oven (install boards for counter tops)
  • Install corner cabinet with the lazy susan
  • Install plywood tops on all cabinets to serve as the counter tops
  • Glue on layer of Hardi-backer on top of plywood (she will install tile herself on top of this)
  • Set dishwasher in place, plumb up, plug in
  • Check out the electrical receptacle to the right of the oven
  • Put range hood in place
  • Set oven
  • Rotate water heater to face the front of the house (90 degrees or so)
  • Might remove and block the extra vents in water heater closet
  • Install new door on heater closet
  • Cover old door opening in water heater closet with sheetrock
  • Help move one other set of cabinets into middle of kitchen
