Project Description |
Single senior lady lives alone just north of downtown Denison in a small, older home she purchased 1 ½ yrs ago. About 900 sf. Very limited income. She has made good progress on repairs, but badly needs the exterior painted. Much of the wood is bare, exposed to the weather. Wooden siding. A church team from Sherman Bible Church is going to scrape off the old paint and sand the surfaces, to prep the wood for painting. Will be completed by 3/17/10. Some lower sections of siding will need replacement (approx 50’), some of the window sills and trim need repair, and a spot in the soffit above the front porch that rotted out needs to be replaced. That will likely take a crew of 6-8 people one full day to complete. She has some tinted windows that could be installed in her back screened-in porch at this same time, if feasible (another crew of 4 people, same work day). Once the wood is replaced, it would be easier and faster to spray paint the primer and then the topcoat. 8 people to help prep for painting by putting up plastic and taping off areas to protect, and then to assist with the spray painting. One full day. Schedule another full day for trim painting (brushes). Crew of 6-8 people, one full day. Could use help with some minor tree-trimming (up against the house). She is so appreciative of any and all help that people might give. If possible, she would like the main color to be taupe, with a complimentary green trim. She does not have the income to pay for the wood or paint at this time. |
