Project Description |
Family of 7 near downtown Denison could use some help to complete repairs that were started several years ago on their older home. They have lived there 8 yrs, and have done a lot to fix it up. Two children in college, three younger kids still at home. Father recently got job, but was without work for a long time (after layoff). Going through some financial difficulties, but currently stable. Family can likely help with material costs, and father would like to help with repairs … just needs some help and expertise getting them done. No health-threatening conditions at this time. Entryway ceiling sheetrock had termite damage (house has now been treated). Entire ceiling section (10’ x 15’) needs to be removed and replaced. Taping, bedding, texturing, painting. Upstairs bathroom had bad roof leak that damaged flooring and walls. Roof probably needs to be inspected, and maybe some further patching done. Commode needs to be lifted up, and some support beams added underneath to stabilize it (wobbles). Floor needs to be sealed, and linoleum laid down. Tub walls need vinyl or acrylic sheets added, trimmed out, painted. Wall needs to be sheet-rocked, textured, painted. Basically the bathroom needs a make-over. Downstairs ceiling under bathroom had water damage. Sheetrock has been replaced, but needs taping, bedding, texturing, painting. Downstairs window needs some trim wood added around frame. Painted. This family could just use a helping hand to get things finished up. Nothing critical. Just a sweet family to get to know, and to cheer up. |
