Project Description |
Single mom has been repairing and remodeling her home that she recently moved in to. Made good progress, but not yet complete. Lost job and currently searching. Could use help to finish up the necessities (purchase and help install), in this order of priority (see photos).
- Currently no hot water in house. Gas water heater to install in bathroom. Will need to be a slim design to fit by tub. Need short gas line run (from existing valve), water shutoff valves, pan, drain, vent piping, roof penetration.
- Only two 20A breakers feeding whole house (except for west A/C unit also fed by 20A breakers). Tripping when microwave runs. Add 2 or 3 more breakers to box, dedicated to microwave, fridge, front A/C unit. Can run wiring under house. Owner has licensed electrician friend that can possibly oversee the work.
- Inspect wiring in attic before insulated, to ensure good condition. Add junction boxes to enclose any taped splices.
- Sheetrock for bathroom ceiling and one corner of bedroom. Owner will contact TCOG to have insulation blown into attic. Once sheetrock installed. Taping and bedding can be done later.
- Northwest bedroom gets very cold. Need gas space heater installed, and gas line run to this area.
- Add 1 ½” PVC vent line to west-side plumbing. Connect just under house and run up west side of house. This bathroom is not yet vented. Seal drain line under sink where it ties to drain to prevent odor.
- If roof vent on east side of house not needed, remove and shingle over the hole in roof. Allowing cold air to enter.
- Add small sheet of Styrofoam insulation by the side of window unit A/Cs to better insulate. Cold air coming through is actually causing ice to form by A/C inside house.
- Owner to talk to TCOG about replacing windows with double-pane windows for better insulation. Existing windows leak, cause heavy condensation. Ice actually forming on window sills. Damaging sills.
- Finish kitchen flooring and some flooring in rest of house. (Lower priority.)
